Is your child an autism suspect?

my husband & i live in Mumbai,with our 5yr old son.our son is in class-1 and can write simple (age appropriate) words, but it is challenging to keep his focus in the school that he is in.One of the school teacher and our pediatrician pointed that he falls under autism spectrum.I am interested if anyone can recommend a school that offer smaller size classes especially for such cases.

First of all I would say, it is not a rare problem with Indian metro city parents. I would suggest that it is kind of too early to decide on your child's behavior. Keep talking to your pediatrician. Keeping your child active like talking frequently, playing small games like tic-tac-toe, carrom, ludo do help make child active and can help him get out of such behavior.

I agree with Sushma. Moreover you can visit some school exhibitions to get to know about many schools at a time. I have been in same dilemma for my son and am in the process of exploring the options. Someone recently informed me about a grand exhibition of top Indian schools (including pre-schools), which takes place in many cities across India every year. I looked it up on the web and found the details at http://afairs.com/premier_schools_exhibition.php. There's a list of cities and dates mentioned for the fair to take place.

Thanks prashant, we have always been active with him. We have a home pediatrician with us who is tracking development. Still I am looking for options of such specialized treatment, facility either in Mumbai or kolkata.
